John C. Favalora is a sallow old man who looks like the corpse of Dom DeLuise. He likes attractive young men to sit on his lap and allegedly treats them to trips in the Florida Keys. He was, until recently, part owner of a company that makes "all natural" boner-inducing beverages. He's also the Archbishop Emeritus of Miami.
Favalora, who was the most powerful Catholic official in Southern Florida from 1994 until last year, stands accused of cultivating what one group of pissed-off Catholics describes as a corrupt "homosexual superculture" in the 195 churches, schools, missions, seminaries, and universities that constitute the Miami Archdiocese. If their allegations are to be believed, for sixteen years Favalora ran his organization like the don of a lavender mob, rewarding his favorite homosexual sons and forgiving their many indiscretionsrampant sex, hedonism, embezzlement, alcoholism, and the railroading of chaste priests among themwhile punishing those with the temerity to complain. Wanton hedonistic gay sex is of course unobjectionableeven encouraged!among those not in thrall to the idea that God hates your penis. But for the 500-or-so priests and deacons charged by The Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI with ensuring the spiritual integrity of 1.3 million of God's children in Southern Florida, it's unorthodox.
Favalora's accusers are loosely organized under the name "Christifidelis," and in 2005 they undertook an extensive investigation of priestly misbehavior in the Archdiocese. They now believe their findings resulted in Archbishop Favalora's sacking last year, and his replacement by a manly, conservative workaholic named Thomas Wenski. The leader of Christifidelis, an attorney named Sharon Bourassa, declined to comment for this story. But it hardly matters. Christifidelis's exertions on behalf of Mother Church are recorded in an enormous, binder-bound document entitled "Miami Vice: A Preliminary Report on the Financial, Spiritual, and Sexual Improprieties of the..........

Wow, that is a well-done article. Congratulations to the Christifidelis group on their work, as well. They are the ones who put the knife in the problem.
Roughly 93% of the Miami parishes are led by gay priests? How long does it take to undo that? Also, how does this not get noticed until it gets that far?
Jesus promised that the faithful would be mightly tested by Satan, and that is exactly what is happening...I guess we Catholics can take solace in that we are surviving under these horrible evil men and their deeds....afterall, the church is NOT its hierarchy nor its buildings...
And the Catholic Church claims to represent Christ? I don’t think so.
I believe that this problem begins in the seminaries. I believe that if the Church wishes to solve this dilemma that they should send qualified people to the various seminaries to seek out and dismiss those who are perpetuating this problem. It is a mission that I believe could be completed in a ten year period and perhaps in a shorter time.
what a different time....
I think the problems started when they began letting homosexual men into the priesthood for fear of not having enough priests....edged on by homosexual bishops I suppose.....
the church is NOT its hierarchy
I’d be interested to hear you comment on that one m.
Believe it or not I find this story as distressing as you do.
Different time - really a different universe.
this is not a new problem. its been tolerated for centuries.
until they go Henry VIII on them somewhere, it will continue.
Whenever I see or hear stories like this, I remind myself of Boccaccio’s story of the Jew who converted to the Church after visiting Rome. His reasoning-any faith directed by a hierarchy like the one he saw HAD to be divinely maintained. That and the old saw about the Church surviving despite its cardinals and bishops. The Mother Church has survived much mortal frailty in its time on Earth-I like to think that God still has plans for her.
Careerism is a cancer on the soul of the US armed forces today let the gay subculture attach itself like a remora and the queers promoting queers will become the end in itself. Catholics look at what your ancient church has become in one lifetime. Soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines pray for your services and start to think clearly as to how you can find the psychological stamina and moral clarity to keep what has happened to the RC Church to happen to your services.
If one measures corruption by the magnitude of the difference between the ideals an organization professes to espouse and and actual practices of its leaders, it seems doubtful that there has ever been another organization with this level of corruption.

Archbishop John Favalora of Miami...2007
Archbishop John C. Favalora blesses a little boy during Communion at the 50th anniversary celebration for Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish.
I'm very afraid that this homosexuality thing goes very far back in time and, assuming that the will to control and eradicate it exists, will be very difficult to eliminate. I still believe that they key to removing this scourge is strict control and oversight of the seminaries. Gay priests would not exist in the church if proper precautions had been exercised many, many years ago. It's not too late to lay the law down and exercise those precautions now.
Interestingly I note the crescent flag of the pedophile false prophet over the left shoulder of the false bishop. What an unconscious irony.BTW Catholics, why is the standard of Islam present at an anniverdary of one of your churches?
