Yes, English food has changed drastically in the last 20 years. I go once or twice a year and the restaurants in London are outstanding. They also have amazing supermarkets and green markets and wonderful regional foods. I own about 50 British cookbooks from the late 1880s to today. All feature wonderful quickbreads, puddings (desserts to us) and roasted meats and vegetables.

Recently spend 2 weeks in England (London, the Lake District, and the Ribble Valley outside Manchester) and didn’t have a single bad meal. The black pudding in the North alone would’ve been worth the trip.
