Might check into what tax deductions you can get. There was a significant offset in 2010 for installing energy efficient appliances. Not sure when or if it ended.

I paid 17K last summer, there were some unique installation factors, we got Trane, will never again buy Carrier due to premature failure of a past Carrier unit

Our price included permits, removal and haulaway of the old equipment, etc, landfill fee alone for the old equipment was couple hundred bucks

If you get several estimates you’ll know if $15K is par for your area, it helps if you know anyone who has a good experience with a good honest HVAC company

Do look up tax credits from the feds and your state (even local govt might have some as everyone had stimulus money to give away
