I question for you, sir, regarding this part of your post: “lots of solid gold coins to buy stuff with.” Just what are you going to buy with a gold coin that is worth maybe $1,500. A loaf of bread, quart of milk, etc.?

Possum, I mainly put that in there because last time I mentioned stocking up with useful things, stuff a fellow might need to make do, some guy came along and told me how gold would get you through rough times better. That gold had seen folks through tough times throughout history.
I figure if it gets bad, real bad, Mad Max kind of bad, that I’d whole lot rather have a pocket full of .22 bullets or some buckshot for a shotgun than I would a whole bunch of krugerrands ... but that’s just me
