It is taking me decades to come to many of the insights The Lord has so patiently offered. The meaning--in real life--of Grace in Christ for us is just getting a firm toehold in my psyche.

(Some, believing they can't be deceived, it's nigh impossible to convince them when they're deceived.)

That's the whole point GOD was trying to make in the old testament in that man kind has failed, rebelled against GOD, sinned, and God set up his standards and laws, but that too, man kind has failed and God wanted to show us how sinful , wicked we really are without him.
He wanted to show us how lost we really are, the point is ? we can't do it on our own, we needed a savoir. We have to come to a point were we concede that we can't live up to his standards and we needed someone , the anointed one to do it for us, Jesus Christ.
Perhaps the reason why many don't want to accept the truth is because of their pride ?
Perhaps the reason why Finkelstein does not want to admit the Bible is right and correct is because he don't want to surrender the truth that he is wrong ?
Perhaps ? the reason why many don't want to come to the truth of Christ is because they don't want to humble themselves, and admit they are wrong, that they too can't live up to God's standards.
The knowledge of the truth ?
Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ said " I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man can come to the father but by me " .
The reason why some can't come to the truth of Grace ? it's because of their pride, they don't want to humble themselves and admit they can't do it, that they can't live up to God's laws and standards, so they continue to try to keep God's laws in their ignorance of the truth of Christ.
