Yup. It is indeed admissible evidence. Always has been, as I understand it. Just like what magazines you have around, or what books you check out at the library.

Given the wild variety of stuff I search for, I could probably be charged with an amazing variety of crimes.

Same here. I'm doing research for a novel dealing with a series of Al-Qaeda attacks here in the US and have been checking out everything from the blast radius of various nuclear devices to the casualty rates for diverse chemical and biological weapons among other things.

So if the FBI or NSA is checking up on me...It's just research for a book!!!
