Since the second half of last year, Cole Hamels has been the best pitcher in baseball, IMO. With all due respect to Doc.

Yes they do. I am a Padre fan. 98 World Series with Bruce Bochy. Just love him! Hope they can hang on to the lead.

Beat ‘em Bucs!!!

Suddenly, we have baseball again in the Burgh :)

Kids watching, I’m not...but is MCCutcheon in?

(And totally off topic, but did you know the Parrot has a cap with a McCutheon ‘do attached? THAT cracked me up when I saw it.)

My favorite manager still lives in Pittsburgh.

Jim Leyland said he was going home to relax in his easy chair and watch the game. Tigers had a 37 day stretch without a day off.

He’s quite a bit older than her isn’t he?

I know they have at least one son who is a teenager or young 20 something.

Is the game frozen on Fox TV or is that just me?

The game video is larger that my screen. I can see that the NL has 4, but can't see the AL score. Weird.

They have a daughter too (late teens); son early, early 20s. I remember Kate as being a little older than me—so late 40s to very early 50s. Jim has always looked old (too much sun and too many cigarettes).

I think Jim has quit smoking in the last year or so. I assume she did as well because couples often quit together.

McCutcheon just went in to center field. Will probably bat in the next few innings. Most exciting player I have seen since Clemente.

Wondering where Leland lives? I think I heard Swickley, not sure. BTW, this game does mean something. The winner gets home team advantage in the World Series.

Looks like the National League is the only side playing to win. A couple of nice shots in the 7th. Bottom of the 8th; let’s see who brought their game now.

Alright! It’s 5-1 National League with the American League’s last at bat, and the late 1800’s has just taken the mound.

American League just can’t hit good pitching. Will show up in the World Series.

I noticed that Big Papi hit a ground ball to Fielder. Imagaine if they had collided at first base. That might have set off an earthquake.LOL

What teams do you think are going to be there?

"What teams do you think are going to be there?"

My guess is as good as any:

AL

Boston
Yankees
Detroit (Lealand will bring them in)
LA Angels

NL

Phillies
Atlanta
St. Louis (the tough call)
San Fran

Yankees will make it again after ousting Detroit.
Atlanta will be the suprise team in the World Series.

Atlanta will win it all.

Interesting. I’m going to say... Philadelphia vs. Boston; Phillies win it in 6. Not that I’ve really been following it this season - this All Star Game makes about a handful I’ve watched so far.
