Exactly, for the most part, only the winners leave their current office. A very few people quit their current office to run for higher, but most losers stay with their current office. And that doesnt even apply to Sarah’s case because, she didnt quit to run in the election or for higher office. She quit later on for personal reasons. Its disingenuous to lump her in with people who quit their post in order to announce their run for higher office.
To be fair, she may have had more than just personal reasons for stepping aside to let someone else be the Governor ... how eefective as the leader of the state do you think she could be while hounded daily by endless baseless lawsuits which she had to answer every time one came up? Sarah Palin is the kind of character who puts those she serves ahead of her, and if she felt she could not be the effective governor Alaskans’ needed, she has the integrity to step aside regardless of the snapping dogs waiting to attack her without thought to what real character means.
