I’d go one further and steal something from the ancient Byzantine and Roman empires.

Decapitate the corpse, stick the head on a pike outside the Capitol in Austin with a placard below it declaiming “RAPIST AND MURDERER” for at least a week.

It is also eminently worth noting that Jesus did not disagree that the thief had earned his temporal punishment, nor did he say that the punishment was unfair.

Permanently rehabilitated.

Amen.

As for me, I'd of had him skewered - gone all medieval on him.

goes to his grave shouting "Viva Mexico!" One last F.U. to the country that was his real home.

Yeah, Mexico probably would have killed him a long time ago.

So true, there is no closure for this family, only pain and a broken heart. They will always feel that she was taken from them in a horrendous manner much too young.

Justice is needed, but it does not heal their wounds or bring her back.

I’m so glad he’s gone though.

They were “Viva Mexico”. I was wondering why did they took a while to propagate on the media. Those words should be cause for scandal, it’s a shame that they probably won’t.

Humberto Leal was returned to manufacturer for warranty service after being found unacceptably defective by 12 of his peers. The shipment occurred today; return not requested.

You miss an important substantive difference between abortion and the death penalty, although I share your sense of disgust at all of the celebrating for any report of an execution.

Somehow, I don't think so.

As a matter of fact, I believe the Mexican government does not give a whit about any of this.

I see no concern, beyond the politics, of the Mexican Government for the Mexican people.

Yes! Let’s celebrate the execution of someone. These first several posts are disturbing. I’m all for the death penalty, but really, a celebration? This just proves the left’s point.

Comment:

You are entitled to your opinion but Leal was a monster and deserved to die a horrible death like the one he put on his 16-year-old victim. How in the name of what is sane can anyone support letting a monster (Obama) live that jabs a piece of wood up the vagina of a girl. His death means that a strong message is sent to the savage scumbags living here and south of the border. My only concern was why it took 17 years to kill this sorry SOB. Besides, I do not give a rats behind what some emoting social liberal thinks. That is the problem with Republicans; they worry too much, about what the sorry leftist will think.

I believe Romans 13:1-4 might be relevant here. In particular, Romans 13:4 states:

“But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it [government] does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.”

The “sword” was used to kill people; therefore, this refers to the governing authorities having the power to impose capital punishment. Note that in a properly-constituted government, “wrath” is brought on those who “practice evil.” And it certainly looks like Humberto Leal practiced some serious evil.

I too am disgusted, that a murdering, souless, POS, has been put to death. I am so appalled that anyone would actually be glad that his little candle has been put out. ///////SARCASM OFF

And if Casey Anthony had been tried in Texas, she’d be sitting on death row keeping his seat warm now!

How funny-those were my thoughts exactly! No justice there.

And justice was not done. Because leal did not die the death he deserved.

I'm not complaining, at least he is dead. But, because we have certain laws, he did not get the slow, agonizing, death he deserved. Libs should at least be thank full for that.

The world is a better and safer place without him in it. Justice was served, he was barbaric. After The lack of justice in Caylee’s trial, I think most of us are glad to see the law of punishment for a crime hold steadfast. We are glad that TX was not pushed around and manipulated by Obama, the UN, or MX. There is a difference on taking an innocent life during abortion and the death penalty. Speaking of taking an innocent life, such as during abortions, Humberto took an innocent life. His punishment was death. He will never hurt another woman or child again, and that is a relief. Because he would have if he had the chance. How you can possibly compare the two is beyond me. We are thankful for justice, for the truth holding till the end. It seems like those moments are far and few between while there is too much coddling of those who behave like monsters.

Indy, you don’t see much going on in the forum in “regular” executions because the UN, Mexico, & Obutthole haven’t usually stuck their nose in our business. In this case, they did and that internationalist, Mexican dictatorial style approach doesn’t cut it around here. His crime was especially heinous and he used over 40 frivolous BS appeals.

Yes we are overjoyed 1. that this slime is gone forever and 2. that meddlers in state affairs got their @$$ kicked.
