I love the political timing of this movie's release: set against the real-time backdrop of Sarah Palin's impending presidency. :)

I read about this movie too.
What is the release date? Or do they have one yet?

In the teaser, the two PR flacks could be talking about our Sarah, then they cut to Streep-as-Thatcher’s riposte. She really nails the voice. This looks sort of interesting now. But judgment must be reserved.

I hope they have my favorite Lady Thatcher quote - "The problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money."
I would love to see a liberal like Streep speak those words.

Hmmm
Meryl Streep once testified before a House committee investigating the use of pesticides in agriculture. She was considered qualified to testify because she had played a farmer’s wife, or something like that, in some movie.

I don’t trust it. I think Streep does great bios, but she is a committed lib, and I don’t think she would have taken the part if she can’t knock Thatcher.

Sounds to me like her Julia Child’s voice just tuned down a bit.

I think it was because she raised endives.

Let’s imagine a few right-wingers got together and made a big budget and oh so very serious and earnest movie about the life and deeds of some prog-socialist messiah. I wonder, I wonder, I wonder how the media — meaning the left-wingers! — would react?!

This looks sort of interesting now. Two PR hacks gaming a politician to be more electable, polishing/changing her image, Thatcher manipulated as if a puppet by others?
All probably true as it has happened to many, but you will never see a Dem portrayed in any such light.
Is Oliver Stone behind this someplace?

I cannot stomach Meryl Streep even though I think she has played some good roles. Her mouthy words have put me off her graze. No pennies will I spend on a project she is involved with.

Has Meryl Steep ever played someone who wasn’t a victim of something? I see her and I see a victim not a Iron Lady.

Yes, and Meryl Streep will play the lead.
