The surprise to me is that they found a jury that wouldn't be bulldozed by what the prosecution called evidence. I wouldn't have needed any of the defense's claptrap to wonder where was the prosecution's beef.

Perhaps the dead and decomposing body with duct tape wrapped around her head was where the beef was at. And the fact that the last person to have been seen with the child lied to the police every step of the way.
