Question: I’ve gardly watched any of the trial, nor followed any of the threads. What’s the general consensus on how the judge has done....obviously he’s far better than lance Ito..

Perry has been great. Non nonsense in his court room at all.

I like the judge. He’s far better than Ito, and a lot better than a lot of these high-profile trial judges. No-nonsense, fair, and pretty strict, and won’t allow his courtroom to be turned into a circus.

I have no courtroom experience Ken, but truthkeeper is a paralegal so she could probably answer you. My personal feeling is that he has given some leeway to both sides but keep in mind these two sides have been fighting this out behind the scenes for two years - another judge has been involved and left, other attorneys for Casey have been involved and left. So he had to give them instructions back earlier in the year when he took over. I think he has been anticipating problems from the beginning.
Those whining that he has shut down the defense need to go back and read - the defense has tried everything they could to stop this trial, even asking three or four times for a mistrial. AND, objections are often just made to get on the record so they can be reviewed for any upcoming review. So I don't think the Defense always thought they would get an objection sustained, just wanted to make note of it on the record.
So overall - I think he has done a great job. One of the things he has done that I appreciate it tell them not to yell - he can hear just fine. My household is not a name calling yelling place so I don't like it in a work place either.

Judge Belvin Perry has been awesome. Fair and in control of his courtroom. Beyond patient with the incompetence of Baez. Baez got the first judge assigned removed. His name was Strickland. Fla. Bar needs to get Baez for his doings.

My feeling is Judge Perry has bent over backward to be fair, even when the defense has pushed the envelope. In family law that is all we ask for...a fair judge...and then let us prove our case.
Don't even get me started on Lance Ito...we'll be here all day. Ugh!
