U. K. L. Lee
sklar

It should be very simple and easy to verify if there ever was a Registrar in the state of Hawaii named "U. K. L. Lee", no?

Wouldn't there be a record if his/her appointment to the post, how long they served, when they retired etc?

I am a bit surprised Jerome Corsi and WND don't have boots on the ground in Hawaii investigating this. If it turns out there is no U. K. L. Lee (and it's just a made up ukelele pun) then that's a strong first punch in the debunking derby to follow.

How about the fact that there are many Hawaiian BC's signed by the same person...

Well, since you are all-knowing, enlighten the rest of us... HAS there been research into the identity of U. K. L. Lee, and if so, what are the results?

Yes, it’s the same name and signature as was on another known birth certificate.

Okay, thanks for the info (and the civil tone.)

I googled U. K. L. Lee and didn't find any examples of authenticity to the name. Just lots and lots of ridicule for it. There was no U. K. L. Lee topic posted on FR that I could find.

That could indicate a system of corruption.

The question remains: Who is/was this person?

I'm not certain why you say that, as it would more likely just indicate that there was a Registrar by that name.

Lee's signature wasn't on the Nordyke twins' certificates, but it was on Edith Coats' certificate not quite a year later:

I say it because the name is highly suspicious sounding and it is possible that there was a system of corruption going on that no one wanted to put their real name to.

The kind of corruption that would include allowing a grandmother to phone in for a fake document.

If there were a Registrar by the name U.K.L. Lee, then let’s learn who that person was.

Is that a problem?

Is that a problem?

Quite possibly, since it has to do with personnel records from a government office that nobody (no one I know, at least) has access to, and personnel files that are 50 years old which might not even exist any more.

Does it have to be a conspiracy? Can it not be simply that somebody's mother had a sense of humor, and the child actually enjoyed being U K L Lee?

And do you think, really, that if there were some sort of system of corruption as you speculate on, that they would give a name to it that would be likely to draw attention?

Personally, I would put a name of "Mary Ann Jones."

I would think a person going by U K L Lee should have a document trail that could still be found and is at least something a person with the resources could look into.

You put stock into a mother with a sense of humor, but you think all criminals are geniuses with no sense of humor?

I looked on google and couldn't find a single reference to an actual person named U.K.L. Lee. That's what led me to post the topic.

Your point is a very good one, IMO. Sort of like "Alan Smithee" used as a fake credit in bad movies where no one wants their real name used.

It’s just not very likely, and unless you have any proof, it’s simply speculation.

Personally, I don’t have the resources to go hunting for the Registar.

How does one become a Registrar in the state of Hawaii? Is it a governmental position? If so then there should be some sort of public record.

Let’s say there are 100 documents with the signature U.K.L. Lee. Of those 90 might be straight with no problem other than the fake signature. But then there could be 10 were a hundred dollars or more was paid for a fake document.

The 90 documents help cover-up for the 10 fake documents.

Otherwise it would be easy to spot the 10 fake documents.

It beggars belief that a mother would pick a name for her child so that when that child grew up he would use U.K.L. Lee as his signature.

The name itself “U.K.L. Lee” could have been used with the intention that if ever the criminal were noticed, he could play it off that he was just being cute and funny.

About the funny part... consider what these documents were for - newborn babies.

What is a “U.K.L. Lee”?
Basically a very small guiter.

What are babies?
Very small people.

It could be that a criminal with a sense of humor fueled by a drinking problem was making extra money by producing fake documents and correctly assumed that no one would notice (until now, many decades later) and if they ever did he could laugh it off as no big crime.

That is my considered theory until someone proves it wrong.
