I lived in Anchorage in the late 1970’s. The queers were active then too. Usually they would have a “Ball” the night before what became the “Pride Parade” where they’d cross dress and just act so silly!
Well, one year some radical hetero threw a smoke bomb into the hotel “ballroom” and created a big fuss. I thought that was pretty funny. Can you imagine a large group of males dressed as females shrieking and running for the exits wearing high heel shoes?
