My brother did some restoring on ‘60s and ‘70s British sports cars (TR4s, TR6s, Austins, etc.) and he mentioned more than once that the pedal arrangements took some getting used to. But it doesn’t seem like the kind of mistake you’d make more than, oh, I don’t know, ONCE?

I worked in a hot rod shop years ago and one of our projects was a TR-3 that we were fixing up for road racing. When we got done, the owner asked me if I wanted to test drive it on the track. I said sure. I tried to get in but my feet wouldn't fit. I have 14EE shoes and I couldn't push the clutch without hitting the brake or the accelerator without hitting the brake. I never got to drive it.
