An investigation into loud music ended with a Piqua man getting tased by police Tuesday.
Officers responded to the rear apartment at 316 Broadway at about 1:30 p.m. after a neighbor complained about loud music coming from the address.
Investigators approached the suspect, Patrick Miller, 45, and asked him to turn down the music.
Miller, officers say, turned it up instead.
An officer exchanged words with Miller, but waited for backup to arrive before approaching him again.
Ultimately, officers say Miller took a swing at them and that is when he was tased.
Miller became unresponsive and CPR was necessary. He was stabilized and removed to Upper Valley Medical Center.
Officers say there was evidence of alcohol use, but the investigation continues.
No officers or fire personnel were injured during the incident.
Miller remains hospitalized in the ICU unit at Upper Valley Medical Center.
Charges against Miller include aggravated menacing, resisting arrest, obstructing official business and disturbing the peace.

The Dept of Justice has recently changed the term describing tasers from “non lethal” to “less lethal”, because just under 0.1% of the people tasers are used on die as a result of being tasered.
I like this story
The New Hotness Police Greeting: ZZZZZZXXXXXXSSZZZZAP!!!
Taze’em. . .and in some cases, do the world a favor and just shoot them.
At least they didn’t shoot him like a dog.

I lived 23 years in an apartment complex and I'll tell ya, I've had to put up with a lot of crap and I've seen a lot of crap.......I don't know how many times I had to call the cops on stuff that was going on in the parking lot or domestic violence in adjacent apartments.
If it wasn't for the fact that I lived in one, I'd say only weird people live in apartments..........LOL!
Wouldn’t a more honest title be: “Rowdy Drunk Tazed in Scuffle”?
Takes a swing at a cop. Gets tazed.
In the Army that condition is known as “being ate up with the dumb-ass”.
The headline is deceiving. More like “Officers Use Taser on Man Who Tried To Harm Them”
NAPL!
That was dumb of them. Less than a death per thousand is probably less dangerous than the baton. Heck, it may be less dangerous than being arrested in some locales.
Did you read the article?
Yes, many “conservatives” like the unconstitutional ideal of cops dishing out lethal punishment to Americans who commit such crimes as playing music too loudly and not obeying when they are told to turn it down by their annointed punishers in life.
I bet you get off on cops killing pets as they raid the homes of Americans and throw them to the ground or shoot them, too. You get excited about men being raped in prision while the guards watch? I’ll bet it gives you a thrill up your leg to see those old ladies and children sexually molested at the airports as they try to board planes, too.
Yeah, I read it. The cops respond to a noise complaint, find the occupant of the apartment to be drunk and disorderly, so they zap him, nearly killing him in the process.
Did I miss anything?
Who calls in a noise complaint at 1:30 PM?
Someone that has to be at work at 3:00 pm
