In retrospect, one of the biggest farces ever perpetrated by the MSM on the American public was the "Communism is Dead" theme it spewed in the aftermath of the fall of the Berlin Wall and Communist regimes in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.

Communism, unfortunately, is very much alive, reaching the highest levels of the current US government as this article points out.

One quibble with the the geography in the posted article: Panetta, as a congressman, was based in Northern California, not Southern California. Santa Cruz is just south of San Jose.
