That’s been my observation for at least the past fifteen years.
I first noticed it when NAFTA was signed ‘94. The papers and TV was full of talking heads about how great everything was. Meanwhile I was stunned at the idiocy.
I couldn’t help but think then how surprised I was that America’s unions hadn’t joined together and seriously kicked some butt in DC. I had forecast the heavy manufacturing jobs flying out of my good ole US of A and the unemployment lines forming.
