My daughter has a Samsung Galaxy S 4g phone - it has a camera in the front and back which work fine - however, she can't figure out how to use the HD Camcord function using the backward facing camera.

Does it only work with the forward lense?

From Samsung Website:

Video Chats without Buffering
Stay constantly connected with friends and family from practically anywhere, thanks to the front facing camera with QIK, the popular video chat app from Skype specifically for Android OS based devices. And there’s no need for any buffering with T-Mobile’s all new 4G network, perfect for video chats. The Galaxy S™ 4G’s 5.0 Megapixel rear facing camera shoots sharp photos and HD videos with excellent resolution.

Looks like the rear cam is for stills only.

It does mention the rear cam will take HD vids....I’ll keep looking.

Service provider, Verison, T-Mobile, etc, has an 800 #. Call them FROM ANOTHER PHONE and they can help.

I have the same phone. I use the camera for video all the time. I mean the camera on the plasic side, not the gorilla glass side. Never used the one behind the glass.

There is an application called “HD Camcorder”. If it is not already on your main screen, go to the applications icon on the bottom right. It is a turquoise square with four white squares in it. Then find HD Camcorder there (the apps are listed alphabetically)..
click on it and you’re in.

If that did not work, take that thing to a store. Oh, you can also try turning off the phone, removing the battery for ten seconds or so, re-inserting it and powering up. If it doesn’t work then, you want to DEFINITELY take it to the store. It’s broken.

I love your response - that is my usual technique to fix things but it is my daughter’s phone......
