I read somewhere that some sick women like to believe that they are special so that they alone can tame the ‘murderous animal’. They imagine their pet freak is dangerous to everyone but them (like fay wray - King Kong) and they don’t really want their ‘powerful’ freak to get out of jail - they don’t want domestic bliss etc.
Ted Bundy had a whole bunch of groupies.
They came to his trials. They dyed (died?)and cut their hair to try to look like the girls he had killed. Many of them sent him love letters and said they wanted to marry him. One of them actually did marry him, or sort of, and had his child.
