I agree with you wholeheartedly, until you get to the “just like neither is Michelle bachman, Cain (!!!), or Palenty” part. At least two of them are running for POTUS. You may not think they are POTUS material, but that’s a different point.

Zeke - that’s what older men look like. Get over it. If all you can see is “Eeewww”, then maybe you’re just myopic, and totally bought into our current culture of totally superficial-youth-worship-and-contempt-and-disdain-for-anyone-over-(you fill in the age).

And, I’m not even a Newt fan.

Well his entire staff felt otherwise. He was supposedly running a campaign and decided going to Greece for 10 days was more important.

Guess we can be thankful he had enough sense not to wear a banana hammock.

The brainwashing of the Social Progressives is nigh on complete now. There’s a downright obscession with outward appearances and a rabid need to denigrate someone who doesn’t look like the plastic and paper world of Hollywood and rag-mags.

Outwardly, Anthony Weiner is in great shape. But all that outward sleakness covers up the slimy, shallow pig that lurks inside.

Every time an article like this appears, the real character and depth of what society has come to emerges in the majority of the comments. It takes a certain denial of reality to compare a person’s character with the shape of their body or the appearance brought on by age.

However, we’re expected to look upon people who choose to mutilate and tattoo their bodies to the point of looking like circus freaks as people who are “making a statement.”
Women who walk around looking like two-bit streetwalkers expect to be treated like “ladies”. Men who look and act like women still want to be called “he”. Women who want to be treated just like men or who want to be men will get insulted too if you refer to them as what they are.

Age and experience used to be valued and respected in this country. Now, if you look as if you’re past the age of thirty, you’re encouraged to disappear.

If I had to choose, I’d much rather look upon a pauchy, bare chested, but groomed elderly politician on a rock than a scraggly, unwashed, unshaven, vacant looking twenty year old with pins in his tongue and eyebrows and a skull tattoed on his neck. Those kind of zombies seem to frequent subways and public parks en masse, seemingly nothing out of the ordinary.

The dregs, the flotsam and jetsam of society have become the norm. Heaven help us.

People who are too young to have fully developed perceptions should keep that under wraps too. It’s every bit as disgusting to witness. “Better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.”

I wonder what they think Washington or Jefferson looked like in swim trunks at the same age.

Lincoln certainly wasn’t fat, but he also quite certainly wasn’t pretty by today’s standards.

Teddy Roosevelt never made it to this age, but he looked like Newt when he was a good deal younger. Probably more muscle under the fat.

That’s the Rushmore Four. Flabby slobs. How dare they run for president?

Well now Newt will get a new staff. Its his campaign. Who am I to tell him how to run it? Lets calm down. Its 16 mos til the election. I don’t think taking a cruise at this point in the cycle is a big deal. MSM is trying to gin up republican emotion over every tiny little thing that happens. Thats because there is no competition going on in their party. They only have us for amusement this time around. They were trying to say yesterday that Tim Pawlenty is through because he backed off on his Obamneycare remark at the debate. I hardly think that was the end of TPaw’s campaign. Or Michelle Bachmann is toast because she hired Ed Rollins. Its all media hype.

“I don’t think taking a cruise at this point in the cycle is a big deal.”

I would disagree. It's basically 2 months before some of the more important tests of a candidate.
His staffers felt he was not serious about campaigning.
But it's not my worry, he can run things as he sees fit.

I don't see him as a serious candidate anyway. That's not a slam on anyone, just an observation.

I 100 million percent support my post. You are probably one of those crazy liberals who goes topless at the local water hole. Well leave us conservatives out of it. It is disgusting!!! If you are overweight like you probably are, is it too much to ask to put on a shirt? No it is not!!!! Good Day!

Suzy,

This is precisely why we are the laughing stock around the World with regards to our obese population......the very least people can do is not advertise there gluttony. That is a sin by the way and Newt certainly loves that sin OBVIOUSLY!
