HAWTHORNE, Fla. -- A 74-year-old man attacked by pit bulls Friday morning had his right arm amputated, his left arm partially amputated and suffered severe facial injuries, Putnam County deputies said. Deputies were called to the 200 block of Old Hawthorne Road in Hawthorne about 11 a.m. and found Roy McSweeney severely injured. McSweeney was taken to Shands Hospital in Gainesville and was in surgery Friday afternoon. His condition was not available. Investigators said the two dogs responsible for the attack belonged to McSweeney's neighbor.
They said the owner of the dogs gave both of them to authorities, and the pit bulls were euthanized and taken to the Putnam County Health Department to be tested for rabies.
Deputies said no further details could be released. .
LOL!! That made me crack up. Love your about page. See your FR mail in a few.
Had to comment cuz you mentioned Doxies. My 11 year old red longhair Doxie is VERY territorial and quite snippy. Moreso than my mother’s Rhodie or both of my aunt’s pits. Matter of fact, when we take Mu to visit my Aunt, she puts both of the pits in their place. I would not want to mess with a Dox!
Mmmmphh, nom, nom, GULP!
Well, that wasn’t a very tasty troll, but it’s gone now, and I need an after-breakfast nap.
zzzzzzz zzzzzzz zzzzzzz
That’snot funny!
Respect me in the morning.

I’m afraid that the door DID...
;-)
Wow, five dogs! That’s a whole lot of love you have there.
The closest thing I have to a dog is Miss Hissy Slashy. Hubby swears that she was raised by wolves, and he calls her “Dog Cat.”
She woke me up with a head bonk this morning, and then she went bounding out to the food bowls. Has me trained, she does.
I puppiesly avoided this topic until now. ;’)
Me too.
Yep... plus, it’s a little more “polite” than the previous one... believe it or not! :-)

Your dogged determination to post is incorgiable.
Five dogs “sounds” like a lot. But the Pyrenees stay with the goats. They get fed and watered with the livestock and “tended”. But they’re rather lumped in with the goats. :-) The little biter lives in the barn. The other Rat Terrier and the Doberman are inside/outside. So it’s more like only having two dogs. We used to have four Rat Terriers, and a Jack Russell... bunch-a little landsharks I tell you! :-)
That’s a great montage, and your idea to change it from time to time is cool as well.
Hmmmm.
That is not acceptable behavior.
Actually, five dogs sounds just about right. :-)
My sister has two Jack Russells, Wyatt and Belle. She’s crazy about them.
Ooooooo! I’ve got one of those. Given it for Valentine’s Day ‘cause nothing says ‘I love you’ like a sniper rifle.
*That’s* where It went!
It’s in the “unmentionables” aisle at Wally World right now, trying to decide between “with wings” or “without”.
