Unless they can say that VItter campaigned on family values, I don't see your point as valid. Democrats have no trouble arguing for “integrity” (see Pelosi “drain the swamp” comments) when it suits their purpose, so let's not pretend that the “right” is the only side that attempts to make an argument based on what we used to think of as “traditional” values.

Vitter did campaign on family values. I used to respect him and now I see him as just another hypocrite. The fact that he stuck around has been a terrible decision. I realize he was just following the lead of Clinton, but I just wish he would resign even now and do us all a favor.

You miss my point. I hold myself to a higher standard than most liberals. And I also hold those whom I support politically to a higher standard. Vitter was hypocritical, and he should have resigned.
