Illinois summers are every bit as hot, in my opinion.
Plus the rest of the year is wonderful here!
Take a trip down some time, I think you’ll be pleasantly suprised. Also I think this is a great place to retire- great weather, nice people, great conservative politics, low taxes and close to many places that you might want to visit.

I live in southern NJ , eight miles from the ocean. yesterday it was 94 degs.. Summers here are hazy , hot and humid. The Land Of Lincoln does sound tempting. Lord knows it’s getting too expensive here.
