What do you mean by coyotes being a “problem”? Most issues between humans and wildlife can be mitigated with a little foresight. Unless you’re just itching to prove your country chops by killing something, I suggest you give some thought to that.
I grew up on a farm in central Texas. I now live in the suburbs on the north side of Dallas. I now see more coyotes up close here in the burbs than I ever saw back on the farm. Back on the farm, coyotes were very shy and elusive, couldn't get close enough to even take a shot most of the time. However, these guys I'm seeing here in the burbs seem to be quite comfortable around people. I've driven right up beside them on the way to work early in the morning. They seem to be especially fond of little bunnies in our flower beds, residents cats, and small dogs that get out. But, alias, can't shoot’em in the city limits - think the coyotes are a ware of that, wily critters for sure :)

Yeah, most.
And for the rest — for example, coyotes, which are worse than worseless vermin in ranch country — there’s Winchester .243.
They’re not called “varmints” for no reason. I live in the woods. Coyotes will take any creature, smaller than themselves, that they think they can handle (including little children). Any coyote that wanders in the vicinity of me or my grand-children is DEAD! There simply is NO dilemma!
Thay are varmits and should be should be shot on sight, just like wolves.
