Need help finding a wool carpet cleaning product. Having trouble finding a brand.
My research shows it needs to be pH neutral [or close to it], should NOT leave a sticky residue, and NOT contain any bleach or dye.
I have found one product [Orbit ph Neutral Wool Carpet Cleaner] - but it is from the UK and can only be ordered from there.
Would like to find domestic manufacturer of a like product or domestic distributer for Orbit.
Any help appreciated !!!

Is it just a spot or a whole room?
Whole room - but I cannot use standard cleaner with the rented steam machine. Fibers of wool carpet do not stand up to regular cleaner.

I’ve been Googling and pretty much all I get is carpet cleaning businesses ...
My suggestion is to contact a reputable carpet cleaning company if this is a special carpet. I use Service Master for may rentals but I know they do specialty stuff like wool and burbers and the price is reasonable. I also heard a guy on Mark Levin’s radio program that had a nationwide carpet cleaning company that didn’t use chemicals. I forgot the name though.
Just a thought.

Carpet is my friend’s - I suggested a reputable pro, but she doesn’t want to spend the ducats. Would rather have me do it.
Wool carpet in great shape, regularly vacuumed, but this is first time it needs to be cleaned with machine ...
Now that there is spit up funny.
Try sprinkling a couple of boxes of baking soda over the carpet. gently sweep the soda into the carpet, then vacuum it up after letting it sit for a couple of hours without walking on it. The other trick would be use what one would use on a fine cashmere garment, minus water ... ever smell wet sheep?

She is my 90 year old neighbor whose daughter I went to high school with committed suicide in her house 2 weeks ago. There is high velocity blood splatter [spray drops] on the carpet ...
Do a search on home remedies blood wool carpet cleaning. Although I seem to recall that Resolve Spray worked well on blood on our carpeting - but it is synthetic. Vinegar, peroxide, things like that.
The old gal may have an old container of Fels Naptha (sp?) laying around. Like my 93 year old mother “Don’t use too much - you can’t buy that stuff anymore!” I tried to explain because its a pretty bad cancer-causer, but at 93 who cares! (And it can’t be THAT bad as she’s been using it all her life.)
And condolences as you help your neighbor through a difficult time. I can’t imagine.
Like I said in my post - wool has specific requirements. I haven’t found but one product [from the UK] that fits the bill.

If this is too expensive, do more research at this site. It is very useful.
Blood spatters are tough. Especially in wool. The proteins in blood bind with the curly long-chain proteins in wool.
I've got an OD green wool sweater that was once soaked in blood that came clean (enough), soaking in woolite and cold water.
It still has a hole in it.
Some stuff sucks. Didn't mean to pile on.

I found this Quick N Brite http://www.quicknbrite.com/index.php (caution, they have a very loud video that starts up when you go to their site) stuck way back in my cabinet the other day when I was looking for something to clean a stain on my carpet, a stain I might add that I’ve been trying to clean for months now. Everything I tried before would make it a bit better but then the stain would come back in a day or so.
So I dragged this Quick N Brite out of the cupboard, it’s been there for 10 years at least, and amazingly, it cleaned the carpet completely. If you’re dealing with splatter, I’d take the Quick N Brite with a damp white terry cloth and work out each stain separately. A secret I’ve found is the push down twist motion (I do this with my foot sometimes) when cleaning. You may not need to use a carpet cleaning machine if you’re just dealing with spots.
However, I once had a wool wall-to-wall carpet that I cleaned with a regular carpet steam cleaner. However, and this was years down the road, I had to have the carpet restretched, don’t know if my cleaning efforts had anything to do with it. Restretching isn’t very expensive though.
And OMG, that poor woman, how is she holding up? And you, how are you doing? Was this completely unexpected?
Have you checked out Chemspec products? I haven’t used them but they’re supposed to be ph neutral.
