We all know this is a CNN hit piece - people are much more happier when they follow their “gay” urges, right?

But reading through the story, the father basically beat the kid with a belt when he did more feminine things. Of course the kid turned out nuts.

I skimmed the article and saw the phrase ‘ her husband ‘. Was this in fact, the boys biological father or some type of step father?

If a boy plays with dolls you take them away from him. You don’t beat the living $hit out of him.

Definitely a hit piece. Why is a suicide from 8 years ago now “news”?

After I read the story, that’s just what I thought too. The mother is blaming everyone but her sadistic husband who, according to his older brother, beat the boy mercilessly into shock “every Friday night.”

I agree with you both.

There's nothing in this story that says Kirk was "gay," or was involved in any kind of objectionable sexual behavior whatsoever. The one thing we do know for certain is that he did things that are harmless, blameless, not morally wrong (e.g. stroking his hair, for heaven's sake??!) and for this, was beaten regularly and severely.

Beating a child like that is a crime. A kid who is treated in such a hateful way, for whatever reason, is going to grow up with a whole lot of emotional pain, and --- as far as I know ---- emotional pain is much worse than physical pain as a precondition of suicide.

We do have to look for "the news behind the news" on this. This unfortunate man was brutally abused by his parents 30-40 years ago, and died 8 years ago. And CNN finds a way to headline this NOW, drag in the names of NARTH and the Family Research Council (with no evidence that they knew of or approved of any of this) and call it "news" because....?

I wonder.

Gays have extremely high suicide rates. Homosexuality used to be classified as a mental illness and was accompanied by a varity of dysfunctions.

CNN is focusing on this one mentally ill fellow to make it appear that real therapy (used before the 70’s)
is dangerous - murderous. What a bunch of self serving hooey.
