I don’t necessarily.....HOWEVER, JAIL???? That is where the line should be drawn. Fire her, but don’t put her in jail. He is 18 years old. There is not one issue here that should cause her to go to jail.
Could this be, in part, due to the fact that she furnished this student, and some others, with alcohol? Or, is this okay too? Is there a law in Texas where a teacher engaging in sex with a student, regardless of the student’s age is, is illegal? If so, then the cops are following the law. Don’t like that law? Then have the state legislature change it.
Communications being what they are today I’m not surprised we’re stories like this more often. That said I also believe good old fashioned community sanctions went a long way toward curbing student-teacher relationships.
The absense of community sanctions and the sheer size of the teacher this behavior. In addition, there is the internet’s ubiguitous portal to any sort of immoral and/or deviant behavior one can imagine. I suspect teachers with a student fetish actually find a comfort zone in these porn fantasys. In turn, this encourages them to act out their fantasy.
I can sort of understand the fantasy. But on an intellectual level it is amazing the teachers think these teenagers and young adults will keep their secret. I guess what I’m saying is that teachers who act out the fantasy have lost the ability to think rationally. To a degree, they are, in fact, sick puppies.
