Things sure have changed since the days that my grandmother would keep a ten dollar bill on the front foyer table, so that upon returning home, she'd know if she'd been burgled--or might encounter a thief still inside--to today's dangerous times and redily-available high tech protection. Not that my grandmother's method is obsolete--it's great timeless low-tech--but with the endless combinations of the latest security methods available today, why would anyone NOT have at least a good basic instant-alert system to help guard their most basic possessions and identity (personal papers.)

Sadly, times have gone from Mayberry to Johannesburg, where every half mile, it seems, you see a security system company. :-/

I live in a semi-rural area of maine.

A few years ago I bought a used car. I brought it home and jumped into my old vehicle and went off to run errands.

Within ten minutes I got a phone call from a neighbor alerting me to a strange truck in my yard. I told them it was mine. their reply was;

“Oh.OK, can we come over and check it out?
