The same year Madelyn (per gradmother) attempted to obtain a certified birth certificate - and didn’t succeed...and wasn’t 1982 the same year the Dunhams told Virginia Goeldner that ‘the boys mother died in 1970’
If there was a name change, and if Barak Mounir Ubayd was his true birth name, and if he didn’t have a Birth Certificate...WHAT WAS IT THAT HAPPENED IN 1982 that might have caused him to officially change his name - so that he COULD CONTINUE TO USE THE NAME HE HAD BEEN USING?

Well, we know he traveled to Pakistan in 1981. Was it under the name Barak Mounir Ubayd ? We don't know what he did while he was there or what people he met with. Was the name change used to "cover his tracks " ?
