I used to live in downtown Springfield. This tornado came across the Memorial Bridge and did damage around the Civic Center, Chestnut St and the Quadrangle.

There is a terrific Dr. Suess sculpture garden and those museums by the Quad. I hope they weren’t damaged.
p.s. Downtown Springfield isn’t what you’d call residential.

Thanks, everyone. My sister in East Longmeadow is fine. My son (in Pittsfield) wanted to know why I was wondering if he was safe (I texted him). I don't know if he's pulling my leg or if he didn't know about the weather situation.
The Adirondacks have a strong wind advisory (up to 50 mph). I hope my son got some good survival training last week because he's going solo right now. :-)
