I remember reading that when Ronald Reagan was a movie actor, he was taxed at 90% and that turned him into a conservative. The Beatles were taxed at 95%? That is ridiculous. I don’t care how rich someone is, the government has no right to take that much of anyone’s money. It’s pure slavery.

I WAS a liberal in high school. Then I worked for McDonald’s one summer during high school because I wanted to buy a cool car for the following year, saw how much the govt was stealing from me, and I automatically swerved right. This girl just figured it out late but she still figured it out.

Why is it any more wrong to take 90% than it is to take 40% or even 10%?

Te income tax is slavish in premise. The 16th amendment was designed to control the people and empower the federal government. Even beyond the outrageous tax rates we now suffer this form of direct taxation requires the government to dossier the people and punish those who refuse to submit their papers for approval.

The Fair Tax has problems but none that are as intrusive as the current system. (actually I favor a flat retail tax rather than the FT) We need to repeal the 16th amendment and quite possibly chisel TR's face off Mt Rushmore.
