Just got one last week...because the regular 2D picture was so damn awesome.
It does rather make sense that high numbers of people who bought 3D TVs like them. After all, if they weren’t impressed by them in the stores, they would have been very unlikely to purchase them.
I find the way HDTVs display motion rather dizzying, and the larger the TV, the more dizzying the motion is. I’m using a TV that’s getting close to 30 years old; if it stops working, I’ll be replacing it with as basic a TV as possible.
Now, 4K HDTV at double the resolution of current 1080i TV--that I have interest in! I've read that demos of 4K HDTV is so sharp even on a test 55" flat screen monitor it's like looking at a series of moving high-resolution photographs.
My kid and I took a peek at the 3D display at Best Buy.
The kid will sit 4 feet away from a 50” plasma with headphones on playing Call of Duty for hours at a time.
His comment about 3D, “eh, I don’t think I could wear those glasses for very long”.
