I'm all ears.
The problem is simply that people are eating too much of everything and exercising too little.

The problem is simply that people are eating too much of everything and exercising too little. Absolutely
Look how few job occupations involve strenuous work these days vs 100 yrs ago. And how many involve essentially no physical activity other than respiration.
Then you get to the percentage of the populace that isn't working at all spending their hours with tv or computer.

I was a fat-recruit in Marine Corps boot camp! I graduated (under my required weight) and then got a weight waiver to weigh as much as 210 pounds! Unfortunately, on one weigh-in I was at 220 pound!
The Marine Corps sent me to a diet-class which really explained things that I never knew before: If you eat less and exercise more, you loose weight! I am so glad that they sent me to this school, because until then, I had NO IDEA HOW I WAS GAINING WEIGHT! But now, I know exactly why I am fat! /sarc
All fun and games aside, that is the problem of 85-90% of all fat/obese/over-weight people in America! Eat less, exercise more and you will loose weight! PERIOD!
