From the article it’s a privately organized event being held at a Lutheran university.
So if they want to hold a Hmong spelling bee on their own time and their own dime....good for them.

I agree with you, if private money is used there is no foul in taking pride in your heritage. I go on occasion to the Greek festival, the Italian festival, powwows, Oktoberfest, pioneer days and the list goes on. I do dislike publicly sponsored Black History propaganda and Muslims who impose their beliefs on others. Some children learning their ancestors language is benign. The fact that they have to do this shows some assimilation is going on.
