"On May 1, 2003, in Marietta, Georgia, Lex Luger called 9-1-1 from his home and reported that Elizabeth was not breathing. She did not respond to mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, and paramedics rushed her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Elizabeth was 42 years old.......a search of the residence revealed a number of illicit controlled substances, including anabolic steroids, OxyContin, synthetic growth hormone, testosterone, temazepam and alprazolam.
Feeling that the lifestyle and being a part of that industry had taken her daughter from her, Elizabeth's mother pointedly banned anyone from the wrestling industry from attending her funeral, which was held in Kentucky."
