Eh, anyone dumb enough to buy a Amtrak ticket to spend 24 miserable hours going from LA to Portland deserves this kind of experience. It will teach them that it’s much better to spend 5 minutes being groped by a homo TSA agent and 2 hours of flying time packed in like sardines. Plus it’s much cheaper to fly so there! Thank God we can still drive our cars, for now.
Actually, I kinda enjoy traveling by train.
The “Keystone” from NYC to Pittsburgh through Horseshoe Curve and the Zephyr through the Rockies are unforgettable rides.
The food in the dining cars is primo, too.
