The GOP Machine almost always nominates the next guy in line and that would be Romney.

He also has the cash.

But, Paliin has the People!

I think that everyone who dropped out so far knew they were not going to win. Internals are a lot different than the spin polls coming from the MSM. If the Huckster had baggage before, it sure hasn’t gone anywhere in 2 years. He had issues. Trump probably wasn’t going to run anyway. This was just a stunt to boost ratings to squeeze out another year of Apprentice.

Suuurrrrrrrreeee...

Here's my theory: they all know that the US economy is going Tango Uniform real soon, and nobody wants to be the sucker left holding the bag.

Great idea - unfortunately with all of their help, the recipient would still have to be acceptable to the public! Heh (Actually, their help may be a hindrance this time around). I really don’t care about their endorsements - it is time to look for a new, real candidate. That means looking outside the RHINO crowd...maybe West, Cain, others not yet declared. There is still time and when the right one decides to run, the money will flow via the internet...

Obama may raise $1B. If we run another underfunded candidate this year it’s over. This one will take money so that will rule out Bachmann, Santorum and Paul. Not sure what T-Paw has for a money base or Palin. If Romney and Huntsman team up that’s a ton o’ money but they could compete.

Being in Cali I have seen the Chuck DeVore vs the establishment race. Yes Carly went down swinging but at least she had a chance (and she was the Palin backed candidate).

Obama is going to have a hell of a lot of $$$$ to spend and a media machine geared up and ready to go to bat for him. Not to mention the power of the presidency.

People don’t want to run against him because it sucks ro run against an incumbent...even a weak one. Huckabee might figure 2016 will be easier.

Trump? I never bought him as a threat to run as a Republican. He might try to make s run as an independent a la Perot in 1992. That would virtually hand the election to Obama.

We're beginning to see some strong candidates drop out.

If either had been an actual "strong candidate", neither would have dropped out.

We go through the same process every election season. Let me tell you, I hate Obama so much, I would vote for someone out of the phone book about now. I will support ANYONE that has a long form and doesn’t drool. Of course I will fret over who will be the best candidate in the primary and of course they probably will run out of money in 6 months, but whoever has the “R” beside their name will get the lever from me. We waste gigabytes of bandwidth arguing who we think would be the best, but can any real Freeper imagine staying home to protest that their candidate didn’t make it? The country deserves better, but we have what we have. I will swallow hard and vote for a Gingrich that made a commercial with Pelosi, or a Paul that is an idiot, or a Morman that can’t figure out if he wants socialized medicine or not. Any of them are better than Obama.

I have another theory. Where I work, some projects are so bad that everyone figures whoever becomes the PM is being set up for failure.

Maybe these guys know enough to know that only a fool would aspire to be president at a time like this.

That really is my take, actually. Urkel, from my perspective, with all his golf outings, vacations, etc., is almost acting like he is doing the 21st century equivalent of fiddling while Rome burns.

I am wondering when people are going to awaken to learn that the leftist main stream media in our nation is our primary problem..Smart people know they will be personally crucified by this evil if they dare to commit to running against O'bama. Why are media people not scrutinized personally like they scrutinize everyone else? They are the source of our decline in every possible way..We will never be restored until light illuminates that darkness. Begin with the real personal stuff such as how much money do they make; How many times have they been to WH functions; Are they married and to whom; Do they have children; Where, in general do they live; Do they have a police record; Who did they vote for; Where did they go to school and what degree did they earn; Did they have to compete to get their job; Do they give to charity; Do they go to church and, if so, are they protestant, Catholic, or other. What organizations are they active in..I mean, folks, we need to know something about these people who have this kind of public influence in our society..And, the owners of the communications companies also need to be scrutinized. We rake oil company CEOs over the coals all the time..Why not the Media Moguls? The more conservative media are already under the microscope in many ways..Why not the leftist media, as well?

not gonna happen.

backstabber romney and his henchmen and henchwomen
already are planning their attacks on the GOP
if the GOP does not get on its knees before romney.

He did it before.
HE WILL DO IT AGAIN.

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"
