My husband is dying to have chickens in his back yard. Fresh eggs in the morning, blot out his mental activity. He works with a bunch of people who have chickens for fresh eggs.

We are in a neighborhood filled with feral cats. In addition, he rescued a feral cat who OUR outdoor cat in the same backyard where he wants to place his chickens. He tells himself he will be able to train the outdoor cat and the chickens are mean.

If he brings it up again, I will agree. But he has to agree that if the cat he adopted attacks the chickens, that will be okay. It’s been running in circles and I feel it is time he got his way. We will be having a chicken roast. And that will be that. :)

Powder..patch..ball FIRE!

My brother and his wife have a coop with over 30 hens, 4 turkeys, 3 ducks and assorted chicks/ poults/ etc....

They also have 11 cats. In battles over territory it is chickens 100 - cats 0.

The cats give a wide berth to the chickens. Foxes are another matter and possums love the eggs.

And as a extra bonus they have zero bug problems around the house.
