LOL, looks like the Clippers are going to be the best LA team for the next few years.
I still don’t like Mark Cuban, but I want this one for Dirk.
Most decent people don’t use the “n” word, so in that I agree with you, but it is the political hate speech that has turned it into such a big deal. Any politician who has ever said anything remotely racist in their entire lives has it thrown at them until the resign. I’m pointing out that Lebron has benefitted from the use of hate speech protection while he listens to rap filled with that very word. So to me, he is just getting a little taste of what being politically correct actually means. We should all care enough to watch what we say, I agree with that premise, but using it to ruin someone (conservative) is pathetic.
The Clippers are my team. My wife and I had season tickets from 2001 - 2007.
But we still watch every game, and we are soooo excited about Blake Griffin (even though he’s a Sooner - barf).
But I still have a soft spot for the Mavs. They are my playoff darling. And I’ll root for ANY team that plays the Lakers, even Boston.
::: Still, it was a retarded question. Technically. :::
Agreed! Recognition by the individual needs to be couched in appropriate response given the timing.
Case-in Point: McEnroe’s “You cannot be serious!” A well timed and delivered “expletive”. It became a classic.
The funniest thing I saw all week regarding political correctness was that utterly goofy public service announcement by the Lakers, all because Kobe used the “F” word. (faggot) Talk about AWKWARD!
If the two highest profile American atheletes like Kobe and ‘Bron can’t buck Political Correctness, then we should just go ahead and confirm an approved list of neutral words we are allowed to say. Hey, didn’t Kobe and ‘Bron skip college? (they aren’t the sharpest knives in the drawer anyway)
You watching the Noah vs Horford series? If not for the Mavs, I would be rooting for the Bulls, just to see Joakim do his crazy dance again.
In my opinion it was very dirty. He deliberately put his leg behind Rondo then pushed him back so he would trip over it. Watch the replay.
Yeah, good series, win-win for a Gator like me.
Rondo deserved it. After the ball went out of bounds, Rondo had his right elbow to Wade's upper back, and his left arm around Wade's waist. Rondo took Wade to the floor. All Wade did was take Rondo with him.
You or anybody else can see it in this video. The slow motion replay starts at 42 seconds.
And Corey Brewer is on the Mavs, although he doesn’t get a lot of minutes.
Totally agree. Trent Lott and Macaca are two great examples.
Several black basketball players have been taken to the wood-shed for “anti-gay” comments, most recently Kobe Bryant.
PC has run amok.
It appeared to me to be a simple accident.
Well maybe James is just niggardly with his vocabulary...
How do you know he listens to rap?
Somehow I don’t picture him listening to Prog Rock.
I am willing to be surprised.......
LeBron likes 80’s music, particularly Cyndi Lauper. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKnolC_PrPU
I would never call someone a name that would offend, that is rude and uncalled for. I do use the word Retard...I call my dog that all the time, or tease my grown children with "are you sure you're not a little tar- tar?" F----ot is not a word I commonly use, and it is incredibly stupid that I have to self censor the usage of it. I more than likely use the word Queer, which means strange and really out of the norm. It fits well for homosexuals. The N word, I use the same way black people do in popular culture....What's up my "nigga", whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Nearly every one of my childrens friends use that term in greeting, so it is something not exactly nice that I kind of started using when greeting them.....it makes them laugh anyway...so it can't be bad....even their black friends laugh most heartily. Maybe I am now even in trouble for calling African Americans a color...black.....See we will never win, if we are always in full retreat.
Yes, Wade looked like he was leg sweeping in retaliation for tough defense.....WHAT A PUNK.
