Japanese people are obsessed with Vending machines. As obsessions go, this one is quirky and funny and a positive in my book.

During my visits to Japan, I have been amazed at how many things you can buy in vending machines.

At major railway stations (next to the tube hotels) you can buy shirts, pants, underwear from a vending machine.

They had a big scandal in the 1990s when teenage girl’s panties (!!) were sold in vending machines. Apparently that is a huge sex fetish in Japan

Anything and everything is sold in vending machines. Although I will give the Middle East guys props for being the first ones to sell Gold Bars via vending machines.
