7:00 p.m. Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar 11/29/59 “The Wrong Man Matter” Matter #667 Bob Bailey, Virginia Gregg (landlady), G. Stanley Jones (George Reed), Chet Stratton, Sam Edwards, Junius Mathews (Stuart M. Wakely) ; Writer/Producer/Director - Jack Johnstone ; Announcer - Dan Cubberly ; Expense Account Total - $1.00 ; CBS ; Promo from last week’s show: “The Wrong Man matter. A case with a real twist at the end of it.” George Reed of Floyd’s of England, North American Office, Hartford, calls about his client John Patrick O’Shea. Someone broke into O’Shea’s home and beat the helpless old man last night. Harry Marshall has been the paid caretaker of O’Shea since he has been in a wheelchair. But because the pay was low O’Shea has taken out insurance and made Harry the beneficiary. Harry felt that O’Shea’s worthless 25 year old nephew Walter Berry should also have been named beneficiary and had gone over to Reed’s home to make the changes last evening, a few minutes before 10 PM, but George was out late at the movies with his wife. Harry left George a note on his front door. Johnny and George Reed go to the O’Shea house where Lieutenant is investigating. Harry tells Johnny his story. When he returned the O’Shea door was open, O’Shea had been beaten, and elderly neighbor Stuart M. Wakely was inside. A piece of Harris tweed suit was found around the window where the perpetrator escaped. Wakely shows up and said that last night he had been trying to hear the 11 PM news, and he had come over to tell O’Shea to turn down his television. O’Shea is slightly hard of hearing. When he came in he found O’Shea on the floor all covered in blood. When Johnny suggests that Wakely may have committed the crime the old coot pulls a gun on Dollar. Wakely is easily disarmed when Dollar hits him. Johnny goes to see O’Shea is still under sedation. In Harry’s room Johnny finds receipts for a rented room in the neighborhood. Dollar goes to the address on South Elm. He gets the landlady to take him to the room that Harry rents. He finds a Harris tweed suit with a tear in the closet. Dollar figured that Harry was waiting for George to be out so he could use that as an alibi. Wakely interrupted him and that is why he had to go out the window. (21:48)
7:30 p.m.Line Up 7/20/50 “Eddie Gaynor is Framed” William Johnstone (Lt. Ben Guthrie), Wally Maher (Sgt. Matt Grebb), Virginia Gregg, Howard McNear, Junius Matthews, Edgar Barrier, Tony Barrett, Paul Frees, Clayton Post ; Producer/Director - Elliott Lewis ; Writers - Morton Fine & David Friedkin ; Music Composer/Conductor - Eddie Dunstedter ; CBS net ; sustaining ; Eddie Gaynor has been framed for the murder of Johnny Taranto, and Eddie’s no choir boy either! After Eddie is sprung on a writ, his body is found the next morning.
8:00 p.m. Gunsmoke 9/6/52 “The Brothers” Program #20 William Conrad (Matt Dillon), Parley Baer (Chester Proudfoot), Georgia Ellis (Miss Kitty Russell), Harry Bartell, Vic Perrin, Paul DuBov, Joe DuVal, Lou Krugman; Director - Norman Macdonnell ; Writer - Les Crutchfield ; Music Composer/Conductor - Rex Koury ; Announcer - Clancey Cassels ; sustained ; CBS ; Jim and Will Thompson drop in on Matt and Chester. They just brought in a herd of 2000, cattle from Pecos, Texas, which are currently at Walnut Creek, and are thinking of selling them, and wonder who might buy them. Matt suggests banker Clem Bates. When they leave Matt says they are strange, and wonders what they are really up to - perhaps just sizing him up because of some trouble they might cause. Matt states that the older brother, Jim, looks familiar. Matt and Chester check to see if the Thompsons really have a herd at Walnut Creek. There is a herd there - as well as Houston Jack, a gunslinger who had a run-in with Matt last year after which Matt threw him out of Dodge City. Clem buys the cattle. Back at The Long Branch, town drunk Sammy says that the Thompsons aren’t who they say they are - but he spooks off before revealing who they are. Later, out on the street they see Sammy open fire at the Thompsons. Sammy gets mortally wounded - before he dies he says that he thought he might get “that reward”. Matt tells the Thompsons he saw it all and it was out-and-out self defense. Chester remarks on how fast the Thompsons drew their guns. Miss Kitty says that Houston Jack is over at the saloon claiming that he is going to kill Matt. When Matt confronts Houston, he runs out of town - Matt and Chester on his trail. Matt stops. He says that things don’t add up. It is a bright moonlit night. They return to town and see four horses at the bank - the Thompson brothers, Houston Jack and Clem Bates. They get in the bank and find Clem on the floor, knocked out. Matt gets in a gunfight with Houston Jack and finishes him off. Clem says that the Thompsons didn’t get anything. Matt tells Chester to go to the depot to get Mr. Hightower to put out a wire - for Frank and Jesse James, wanted for attempted Dodge City bank robbery. (29:44)

9:30 p.m. Box 13 10/10/48 “Double Mothers” Program #8 Alan Ladd (Dan Holiday), Sylvia Picker (Suzy) ; Writer/Director - Ted Hediger ; Music Composer/Conductor - Rudy Schrager ; “Meet Me in the Park”, “Baby Sitting” ; Dan Holiday receives an anonymous letter asking that he meet the person at 10:00 PM at the end of the North park Bridal Path. Dan finds a little 5 year old girl, Janey Parker, asleep on a park bench. She says that she has two mommies, and will not tell Dan where she lives. She carries a letter which asks that Dan take care of her for a while and not to tell the police. At home, Dan gets a phone call from the girl’s “real” mother who says that both he and Janey are in danger. Lt. Kling pays a courtesy call at Dan’s place because he hasn’t seen him in a couple of weeks and sees Janey. The Doorbell rings again, and “Sam Parker” presents a letter authorizing him to take Janey. Dan hesitates, and parker pulls a gun, and when Dan resists Parker’s buddy, Harry, knocks him unconscious. Wanda Parker, the “real” mother who had called earlier arrives as Dan is regaining consciousness. Janey is gone. Wanda says that “Sam Parker” is really Sam Clark. Next, a Mrs. Hatton shows up with Lt. Kling and she claims to be Janey’s real mother. Kling gives Dan three hours to find the little girl. He finds Janey and Sam Clark at Brown’s Motel. Dan gets Sam to leave the room by paging him with a phone call. He knocks Clark out. Janey says that Clark is not her dad, and that she doesn’t like him. Dan returns Janey to Kling, where both mothers show up and Janey identifies them as such. Mrs. Parker is the real mom. When her husband died she put Janey up in a foster home temporarily with Mrs. Hatton. Clark is her husband’s brother who is trying to get control of Janey. Clark shows up with a gun, Holiday punches him out. (26:46)
