Yay! Having (many decades ago) worked my way through way to many years of college as a restaurant worker, I’m all for shaming bad tippers.
Americans should go to Europe if they want to know what service is like when tips are included in the final bill.
Sounds like typical class warfare garbage to me. Maybe I should be exposed for denying tips by not eating at restaurants.
I’m tired of hearing about bad tippers. I tip pretty well, and I’ve seen staff manuavering to work my table. However, what part of ‘gift’ do staff fail to understand? Take the entitled attitude with me, and a waiter will get the insulting amount.
Also, the staff I appreciate the most are those who are all business. It seems like most these days want to be your friend before they even take your drink order.
I don’t know about everywhere, but it’s interesting that Papa Johns charges a DELIVERY Charge, which is NOT a TIP.
Since Delivery people use their own cars etc. WHAT is that Charge for?
I agree with him, if you can’t afford a tip, you should be cooking your own meals.
I tip 20% in a restaurant; More for excellent service.
I tip the takeout delivery person $1 to $2 per bag, just like a bellman or a bicycle messanger in Manhattan, irrespective of the cost of the meal.
Different services call for different payments.
