Wanna impress me, mow my grass and weed my garden. Until then, I remain relevant.

When computers first “came out” years ago, I thought almost all jobs would be obsolete at some point. But I guess we’re now just capable of doing more analysis and higher levels of tasks now that computers are combined with human abilities.

(This post is not a statement of fact. It is merely a personal opinion -- or humor -- or both)
To: Joann37
Absolutely. As usual, Apple’s philosophy is remote, unhuman, and untrue.

Well, computers require electricity and manufacturing, both of which will be the stuff of distant legend once the world economy collapses and society as we know it disappears.
I expect that to happen within the next few years now.
The new stone age.

Woz is an interesting guy, but blind when it comes to real understanding. Man doesn’t create; he merely rearranges that which God has created.

The only jobs that will be left will be the jobs the computers refuse to do.

“The new stone age.”
That’ll be all fine and dandy — until we hit peak stone.
To: Christian Engineer Mass
haha tell that to the Applenecks. They are the MacCult that follow and obey everything Steve Jobs.

Every technological advance has made some human function or other irrelevant. Because why? That was the idea to begin with. If you invent a machine to sort M&M’s into sizes and colors, then the person that did that by hand is no longer needed. Are we better off or worse off for having done that? Most people would say that’s a good thing.

Saw a movie from the 50's the other night. Gregory Peck was saying the same thing as Wozniak.
It still hasn't happened.

Species’ survival has nothing to do with relevance.
A species survives because it has a biological urge to do so, and will use any means necessary to make sure it happens.
What biological urge do computers have?

But I bet Gregory Peck was much hotter as he was saying it!
