I’d say it was even longer than 30 years ago that SNL was funny. In 1981, they did one of those cast replacements that resulted in painfully bad routines. They also had a bunch of obvious and flat-out partisan attacks on Reagan that weren’t remotely funny unless you were a Lib zealot.There was a period in the mid to late 80's where SNL was going downhill fast and SCTV was good.
