It's three not one. and if you remember that table salt is NaCl, then you will realize that it is more safe than table salt because there is no Sodium.
It is manufactured by the selective chlorination of sucrose (table sugar), which substitutes three of the hydroxyl groups with chloride.
I make a large pot of rather strong tea every morning and put ten packets of sucralose and ten packets of Stevia based substitute in it. It's perfect for my Southern sweet tea tastes. Although to keep up with that habit, I have to buy the sugar substitutes at the wholesale warehouse store.
It is just your body trying to tell you that it is a vile and poisonious compound. You will not convince me that aspartame hasn't killed legions-upon-legions of trusting souls.
Ha! That explains why I didn’t know!
I’m a semi-vegetarian. I say “semi” because it’s never been a conscious decision. I’ve never liked meat that much.
VEGETARIAN (n): Am. Ind. word; lit. “bad hunter.”
“bad hunter” does not = bad shooter
Organic chemistry = not my strong point, but I do understand. Also I see that they replace three hydroxyl ions and are not just "added."
Yes, all that "chlorine" hype over sucralose is just a bunch of nonsense. I once asked for potassium chloride at a health-food store (I know, my first mistake), and the clerk was horrified that I wanted something containing "chlorine."
I asked her if she wanted to remove all chlorine from her body, and she said she did. I told her that if she did that, she would die in agony as her blood boiled from the sodium ions' reaction with her blood without the chloride ions covalent bond to keep them busy.
I mentioned that chloride is an essential nutrient and part of table salt. She was so brainwashed that she didn't get it. From the look she gave me, I may as well have been a mutant alien from outer space with tentacles waving around my head.
Why use Splenda packets? Did you see the link upthread to Netrition.com? You can get pure sucralose in water that would take one or two drops to replace a packet.
I use Truvia packets in my tea too, also available at Netrition.
The sucralose/Stevia/erythritol combo really works well for me too.
I'm not affiliated with Netrition in any way other than that I'm a regular customer.
Literal translation is “bad bow, can’t hunt.”
Aspartame, still available wherever liberals have been.
