I find it insulting that they took so little effort to crate this fake. They knew most of the people were gullible enough to fall for it. It’s easy and they knew it. They know the sheep are dumb.
I’m sure this question has been asked and answered a million times, but I haven’t seen it. What is the explanation for Obama’s race being “Kenyan” when Kenya wasn’t technically a country when Obama was born? Did they call themselves Kenya prior to 1964 prior to being formally recognized as such?

The race wasn't listed as "Kenyan," but as "African." The only explanation I ever saw given was on Factcheck.org and cited the DOH spokesman:

Don’t make it more complicated than needed.
I took the PDF I downloaded from the WH web site. Opened it in Illustrator. Ungroup command and bingo, the thing comes apart into about 8 objects. This is impossible to do with a scanned document. That’s it. It’s not rocket science. Scan a piece of paper and you get a single piece bitmap. Save or export it as a PDF file and it is still a single piece bitmap embedded into the PDF.
You could mask and remove elements of the scan, then paste in new pieces of bitmaps. Then you have a number of separate objects grouped together, ostensibly looking like a single document scan.
But you don’t get a PDF like this by simply running a piece of paper through a scanner.
Not to beat a dead horse, but the superscript “th” for a 1970 Selectric required a special “ball” IIRC. So whoever made the forgery (and even the left doesn’t claim the document was real) would have had to stop typing, replace the ball every time they wanted a superscript “th”, then replace it again to continue typing out the form. Considering how lazy government employees are/were, it’s impossible to believe. And I’ve never heard that a 1970 (more likely a much earlier typewriter in the TANG office) was capable of kerning. I’m not saying impossible, just never heard of it.
I emailed a Brit friend of mine that should be able to give me a solid answer. What was the official designation in 1936 & 1961 of the territory we now call Kenya? If I get a definitive response I'll post it.

Obama: "Birth certificate? What birth certificate? I told you I lost my birth certificate. Or they wouldn't give me my birth certificate. Or it's locked up. Or something."
Bloggers: "Wait a minute. You showed us a birth certificate that looked kinda fake. What happened to it?
Obama: "What? Huh? Uhhh.... look, it's Elvis!"
Bloggers: "Really? Where?"
Obama: "Oh, uh, I thought I saw him. Anyway, we were talking about my birth certificate... it's right there... uh... on the website... and there are... uh... no layers, and there is no, uh... kerning."
Bloggers: "Hey.. wait a minute... this looks like a different file..."
Sorry dude, but the layers are only a small fraction of what is wrong with that forged document. ANd I did run something through my scanner and optimized it and didn’t get dates that divided up into parts that turned different colors. Or certification numbers that split into layers with some being rasterized and some not.
It wasn’t there last night. I didn’t notice it until Denninger pointed it out.
