They saved the best for last!
I wouldn't even take him in the 1st round.
In about a half an hour.
It sure is sweet seeing Green Bay at no. 32. GO PACK!!
Thanks.
I'm ok with any pick except Fairley or Jimmy Smith.
I could see someone taking him in the 2nd and trying him like Dexter Jackson (App St) in 08. I would look for a team with an established QB and a tall No 1 to take him.
Maybe Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, New Orleans, Houston, Kansas City or San Diego. I know its a long list, and now that I put it down, it probably wont happen. But to me, that situation (QB, tall WR) makes sense.
I suspect his agent regrets letting him do that.
They won’t, because that would make sense.
The Vikings need everything except a running back. The speculation in the local rags is that they will go for a lineman.
As an impartial observer (Cowboy fan), Id love to see Det get a solid OT. With Peppers, Allen, and Matthews in the division, solid PB OT’s are a premium. And with a young WB, a stud WR, and I think a RB who can be a top 10 guy (Best), the Lions would do well to bolster their OL (along with a good PB TE).
Then use the mid rounds to help the young DL and Safety.
He reminds me of Willie Beaman in Any Given Sunday.
OL would be a waste. McKinney is a beast and Loadholt will probably be a good OT for a decade. Add that to Sullivan and Hutchinson, and Minnesota has a good OL (health providing) for the next few years.
One thing I think my happen, and would be good for replenishment is getting Liuget, the DT out of Illinois. He is a wide body that could develop under Pat Williams. A lot of good GM’s draft studs when they currently have them (GB with Rodgers, Colts with every WR they draft).
I'm just waiting to see what kind of crazy Jerry Jones brings. Him and Al Davis. LOL.
I appreciate the info. I do not know a whole lot about him but I do know Atlanta has done a lot of checking on him including having him visit several times.
I do know his team mates and coaches all like him, both as a player and person.
So since your guys won the Super Bowl at Jerry World, tonight I'll wear this... for you.
Anyway, that old ball cap of mine... still makes me look fat!
I would love for Peterson to be there at 6 or 7 so we could move up for him. Other than that, Im fine with trading down and still getting one of the 5 OT’s that have 1st round grades.
I think:
Castonzo (BC) is the most Pro-Ready
Smith (USC) can develop into a good zone blocker
Solder (Co) will be a bust-tall with no thickness and no nasty streak
Carimi (Wi) bulldozer run blocker who should play the right
Sherrod (Miss St) will probably be a solid starter for a decade, tall, slender and not fat with power. He would be my sleeper. But knowing who the good GM’s are, he will probably go to one of the 5 - NE, SD, GB, Pit, Ind
Thanks for starting this thread maine. I believe Carolina HAS to to take CN just to satisfy the fan base. Like a lot of people, I think he’s selfish and will turn out to be a bust. Here’s hoping Jake Locker will be around at 25 for the Seahawks to take him. Matt Hasselback is getting a little long in the tooth.
I used to joke with him every year until recently: "Well, I guess another wideout first round again..."
I just want you guys to finally win on Thanksgiving...
Well, Ill be busy at work when my Cowboys pick, unless they trade down. Can’t decide whether I’ll want to be surprised by the DVR, or if I’ll take a look on my iphone at 9 o’clock.
I’ve seen Carimi play a lot and really like him. That Wisconsin line was just massive- and good. Agree with your grades. I’d put Sherrod over Solder though. Look for Indy to grab one of those OL. Don’t be surprised if NE gets one too with one of their two 1st rd. picks.
