It wasn’t the UN who changed his diapers, kept him from being dissected by scientists and brought him up the American way.
Why would a leftist even read a Superman comic book? Wouldn’t this hurt the profits?

What happened to "Truth, Justice, and the AMERICAN way"? It disappeared in the last movie, roughly ninety minutes before we learned that Superman is secretly a deadbeat dad.
The new film had upset some Superman purists before its opening, once news surfaced that the plot of the movie had the Man of Steel learning that girlfriend Lois Lane had given birth to his illegitimate son. Others objected to news that the flick's screenwriters had insisted that the famous phrase "truth, justice and the American way" be exorcised from the story in order to avoid offending other nations.

Who read comics anymore...
That's a good point. I was going to say something about its influence on kids, but it looks like many who buy it are adults and sales aren't that high among kids. People getting outraged about this should direct their anger at TV shows like Glee that are watched by millions and that are openly pushing the homosexual agenda into our schools.

I didn’t even know he was an American citizen.

It is sad when a person needs to change the creation of another person because they are too limp in the brain to come up with something new themselves. That's Hollyweird in a nutshell! Nothing original has come out of that sewer in decades.

What kind of idiot lets their kids read modern-day comics at this stage of our cultural decay? They’re all aimed at morally numbed teens these days.
One of the reasons* I stopped taking my kids to the public library is that they had an enormous comic book collection- Scrooge McDuck and Pokemon mixed in with stuff like League of Extraordinary Gentleman and The Watchmen- right next to the children’s section. I don’t know where sanity has gone....
*The other reason being that they had rather graphic sex education books shelved on the same wall as the toddler board books- and at floor level, too. Nothing like telling your two year old to pick out a book and having them come back with http://www.amazon.com/Amazing-You-Getting-Smart-Private/dp/0142410586/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

I still want to get Bugger Wars: Burning Earth, even though it’s developed by Marvel.

Makes me think we need our own distinctly Christian cultural sources. What do you think? Either Superman is substantially Christian or we don’t buy the product whether it be movies or toys? Or reminds me of the debate only select Christian professors for your Christian college or do you let “Satan” teach if he is actually the best in his field, such as medicine or physics. I love a diverse example of entertainment yet when some actor gets up and tells me how I should be shunned or damaged for my beliefs I have started to shy away from spending money on media with which that actor is connected.

I think it would be an interesting list. ABC/Disney, NBC, CBS, Fox, PBS, and their associated news and movie networks wouldn't be on the list. Actually I can't think of any TV stations/networks that would be appropriate in regards to cultural sources - even some of the "Christian" stations I've encountered in our area run infomercials that are borderline sleaze. Books, you would have to zero in on specific books, because there aren't many independent publishers - even some of the "Christian" leaning labels are owned by larger companies who push a lot of filth. You would really need to drill down.
There is probably another thread floating around FR that would have appropriate cultural sources for children, I may have to do a few searches.

How can he? He wasn’t born in the US. He wasn’t formally adopted by his earth parents.
