When Barack Hussein Obama places his hand on the Bible today to take the oath of office as 44th president of the United States, Barbara Nelson of Kenmore will undoubtedly think back to the day he was born. It was Aug. 4, 1961, at Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women & Children in Honolulu.

“I may be the only person left who specifically remembers his birth. His parents are gone, his grandmother is gone, the obstetrician who delivered him is gone,” said Nelson, referring to Dr. Rodney T. West, who died in February at the age of 98. Here’s the story: Nelson was having dinner at the Outrigger Canoe Club on Waikiki Beach with Dr. West, the father of her college friend, Jo-Anne. Making conversation, Nelson turned to Dr. West and said: “‘So, tell me something interesting that happened this week,’” she recalls.

His response: “Well, today, Stanley had a baby. Now that’s something to write home about.”

The new mother was Stanley (later referred to by her middle name of Ann) Dunham, and the baby was Barack Hussein Obama.

“I penned the name on a napkin, and I did write home about it,” said Nelson, knowing that her father, Stanley A. Czurles, director of the Art Education Department at Buffalo State College, would be interested in the “Stanley” connection.

She also remembers Dr. West mentioning that the baby’s father was the first black student at the University of Hawaii and how taken he was by the baby’s name.

“I remember Dr. West saying ‘Barack Hussein Obama, now that’s a musical name,’” said Nelson, who grew up in Kenmore and went to Hawaii in 1959 to be in Jo-Anne’s wedding party. When Nelson was offered a job as a newspaper reporter and photographer at her friend’s wedding reception, it led to her living in Hawaii for 47 years. She returned to Kenmore in 2006. Buffalo News — January 20, 2009.

“Dr. Rodney T. West” is “Dr. David A. Sinclair”????

It would be nice if we could get those born in Hawaii on that date to all get their certificates - we need to see all forms in that sequence to see where that File number came from

I think the video author overlooks the obvious possibility that the lack of chromatic aberration in the White House version can be accounted for simply by the clerk photocopying the original on a copy machine printing from a paper tray with security paper.

Cordially,

You need to go back and watch the video again.

Printing the document onto security paper would not change the security paper image beneath and around the words of the document. There should be no difference in the security paper.

If it was a photocopy of the original copied onto security paper, that photocopy would have had to have been scanned at some point in order for the WH to post a copy online. Many people have advocated that it is the scanning process that created the layers that show up in Illustrator. The video author's position is that because the document has no chromatic aberration, it was never scanned. Therefore, it must have been created electronically.

This morning I scanned a document using an HP officejet scanner. I chose pdf as the output choice on the little window on top of the scanner. I then opened the document in Illustrator CS5. It had hundreds of layers. However the layers were generated as an attempt at OCR. The OCR’ed text was found behind the bitmapped image and I simply deleted it. This deletion did not affect the image at all. On close inspection of the magnified scan there were no layers on the actual image and the text was all the same level of blurriness and sharpness...unlike the Obama birth certificate which had layers consisting of partial words of the scan itself and many anomalies of sharp letters and soft letters.

The curious thing about this Nelson statement is nowhere does the doctor she is talking to clearly state he was the delivering doctor. Maybe she took it that way, but the way her comments are recorded simply do not state this.

Even though Snopes thinks it does ;)

Just to add a little more credance to the Denniger video, because I have seen somewhere people saying the doc the WH posted was acknowledged to be “computer generated” have a look at the letters between Obama, his lawyers, and the HDoH:
